Gene Technology Center Outline
Gene Technology Center (or GTC) was established during the 1994-95 academic year as a shared inter-university facility by order of The Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture, and was renamed the Institute of Resource Development and Analysis Gene Technology Center in April of 2003 during an internal reorganization.
This facility aims to contribute to the comprehensive promotion of educational research in the field of life science, and provides technical support and information for genetic experiments.

Kumamoto University Gene Technology Center established |
April 1995 | Operations began in the Faculty of Medicine Bldg. F basement |
April 1997 | Radioisotope Center (RIC) & Gene Technology Center transferred to newly constructed facilities |
April 2003 | Renamed the Institute of Resource Development and Analysis Gene Technology Center after internal reorganization |
Organization
The Gene Technology Center is managed in cooperation with the Kumamoto University Institute of Resource Development and Analysis Executive Committee, the Kumamoto University Type 2 Genetically Modified Organisms Usage Safety Commission, related departments, and the Academic Association for Promotion of Genetic Studies in Japan.
